1. What are your favorite tools you now have in your personal technology toolbox? Briefly describe a particular activity that you will plan for your students using at least one of these new tools.
My favorite tools include Google Docs and Digital Storytelling.
One activity that I will plan for my teachers is to have them create documents in Goggle Docs and have them share the documents with other teammates.
2. How have you transfomed your thinking about the learning that will take place in your classroom?
Technology is not just a computer with the internet. I was actually amazed at how much technology is available for teaching and learning from an educational standpoint. I can see how paper and pencil is becoming more and more obsolete each day. Learning through technology is a fun transformation.
3. Were there any unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you?
I didn't expect to be frustrated--but I was, not because of the tasks, but because of a slow and confused computer, in some cases.

Digital Citizenship:
Ethics is very important when our students use the internet, as well as any technology they access at home and at school. Students should understand some important lessons in having good digital citizenship:
*Publish only your best products that are ethical and moral.
*Publish anything that is not offensive or hurtful toward others or self.
*Make sure you are always learning something new on the internet.
Teachers should review the rules and guidelines for accessing the internet with students, early and often.

Tool # 10
I used the iPod this year for PDAS in observing teacher instruction and documenting information on the district website. The iPod allows me to carry a small device into the classroom and be able to quickly document my observations without carrying my laptop or pad and paper.
I have used the following applications on the iPod:
MissSpell
ShakeSpell
Dictionary
Notes
ArithmeTick
These applications allow students to use these applications to review and practice phonics and math skills.

Skype is a technology tool that exposes students to information in classrooms all over the world. If a school in another district--whether in-state or out-of-state, or even in another country, is studying a subject that your students are also learning, you can video conference with a teacher so that your students can see the lesson and instruction using Skype.
Jing is a technology tool that assists when one communicates information online and desires to add a visual so that the person with whom one communicates can see what is being discussed and also is able to see an image or visual. This would be great if a teacher is blogging about an assignment and a student doesn't understand a particular assignment.

The Wiki site is a great resources for administrators and teachers, as well as for students. It is mainly an organizational and sharing tool that helps keep everybody organized and informed. I like it for students when they are creating group projects. Each student is able to complete their part of a project and share it with other members of their team. All team members can see, make and comment on changes made before the final project is completed. The team members can collaborate with each other and not have to be in the same location to complete the project. Awesome!

Goggle Docs is one of my favorite tools, so far. Although time-consuming, it will be helpful in sharing documents with teachers and staff.
Goggle Reader is a great tool that is useful for anyone who likes to pull information from lots of different sites. Reading all of the information of interest from one site is a plus and less time-consuming.
On Goggle Reader, I subscribed to the following site:
Rivals.com
Fanfive

Blog It!

Building an online education community and participating in a Professional Learning Network (PLN) is an excellent way to share information. We must be open-minded and ready to receive new and innovative ideas to enhance our own learning and successes.
I really enjoyed reading the blogs. They have given me great insight into the innovative ideas for using blogging to communicate with peers to share and receive new ideas.
5 blogs that I have viewed include:
1. One Apple Daily
2. Kinder Tech
3. "Yipee": Technology, Keeping the Brain Young
4. AggieRoadrunner
5. Sports Nut
